The Royal Oak was built approximately 400 years ago, but there has been very little written or referenced about the Royal Oak in the various 'History Of Swanage' books that have been published down the years. There have been numerous experiences and sightings from many of the pub regulars to odd occurences and a colourful history dating back many years.
