The unquiet spirit of James Urry, who lies in Arreton Churchyard, startled two visitors one summer afternoon in 1983, by tossing them over his grave. His headstone which stands near the path, carries the epitaph "Death is most certain you may see, For certainly it came to me, in perfect health to me twas sent, By Accident most violent. The couple later dicovered that Urry, a blacksmith who died in 1815, had been tossed and gored to death by a bull.
