Newcastle Keep
NEWCASTLE-UPON-TYNE, TYNE & WEAR

Newcastle Keep was built between 1168 and 1178 by Henry 2nd, and the building has witnessed a varied array of paranormal activity over the years. People have been slapped by unseen hands, while the Museum Room is said to be haunted by a "backpacker" - a man who looks like he's wearing a pack who moves from this room to the Queen's Chamber but doesn't come out. In the Queen's Chamber the apparition of a woman has also been sensed here. In the Mezzanine Chamber people have experienced odd, sudden headaches, while figures have been spotted moving and lights have been seen coming down the stairs. In the Galleries footsteps have been heard pacing around while in the Great Hall strange mists have been spotted and the sound of hammering on the door has been heard. In the Garrison Room it is said that lights follow people around the room, while one person claimed there were three people standing in the room but four shadows. The sound of chanting has been recorded in the chapel, and the dragging of metal on stone has also been heard.
