Kershaw House
LUDDENDEN, WEST YORKSHIRE

Kershaw House is situated in the small West Yorkshire village of Luddenden. The original house is mentioned in 1307 as Kirkeschawe meaning church copse. In the 16th Century it was owned by cloth manufacturer John Beaumont, while in 1650 the house was rebuilt by James Murgatroyd for his son Thomas and his wife Anna. The house was converted into domestic dwellings in 1910 and is now a hotel and a venue for mediæval banquets.
