The Schooner Hotel is situated in Alnmouth, a small harbour village on the coast of Northumberland. As well as a legitimate trading port, it was also a haven for smugglers and vagabonds. The Hotel is a listed 17th Century Coaching Inn and its history is not well documented, but there are many stories of murders, suicides and massacres. Its reputation as place of hauntings is well deserved and it has been twice awarded the The Most Haunted Hotel in Great Britain by The Poltergeist Society as it is reputed to have over 60 individual ghosts and over 3000 recent sightings in the last few years.
