Coronation Street
CASTLEFIELD, GREATER MANCHESTER

The nation's beloved soap, Coronation Street, is set in the imaginary town of Weatherfield, Manchester. It first aired on 9 December 1960 and is the longest running TV show in the UK. It is believed that the facades of the street and the interiors of the buildings in a studio nearby have been subject to strange paranormal activity over the years. Although the site had been there for only 20 years, there had been many reported ghostly sightings on the location. Granada Studios was partly built on the original site of the Church of St. John’s graveyard where it is believed that more than 22,000 bodies could have been buried. Over the years many of the actors have also talked of being touched or pushed by unseen hands in some areas of the studio.
