Mains Hall
POULTON LE FYLDE, LANCASHIRE
There has been a settlement on the site since the Norman Conquest in 1066, and a manor house in the area from 1236, but the exact date the existing hall
was built is uncertain. Some beams in the Hall are thought to come from an earlier building, dating from the medieval period. The Great Hall was built in
1995, a replica of the original hall which was demolished in 1853. Paranormal activity includes a mischievious spirit which appears to wander around the
house, moving items and then returning them. Staff are scared to enter the Banqueting Hall as the spirit of a priest has been seen there, while in the
Library the presence of a male apparition has been felt and items go missing. In the Bar area clocks won't work and a cavalier has been seen, while
in the entrance-way a man has been seen on the settee, and the spirits of children are witnessed going out of the door into the back corridor.
In the Main bedroom it is believed that the spirit of a woman enters the rooms, walks around and then vanishes.
