Tatton Mansion
TATTON, CHESHIRE

The Mansion of Tatton Park is a neo-classical building designed by Samuel Wyatt for William Egerton and the Egerton family in 1791. After Samuel's death, it was completed by his nephew Lewis Wyatt in the early 19th century. This grand stately home was filled with the finest furnishings, much of it specially designed for the house, and luxurious tapestries and trappings, plus many fine paintings. Many distinguished guests stayed at the mansion, including their Royal Highnesses, the Prince and Princess of Wales in 1887, the Shah of Persia and the Crown Prince of Siam in the following decade.
