Red Lion Inn
AVEBURY, WILTSHIRE
The Red Lion Inn dates back to 1802, while historically there has been a building on that location as far back as the 1600’s. The most renowned
haunting is that of a woman called “Flori” who was supposedly thrown down a well hundreds of years previous. The story dates back to the Civil War
period when her husband, upon returning from his campaign, caught her in bed with another man. He proceeded to strangle Flori, and threw her body
down the well. Paranormal activity in the building has ranged from tables being covered with Salt and Pepper where no pots are to be found, as well as
the restaurants famous spinning chandelier beneath which a man with a beard is seen sitting at the table. A number of witnesses have apparently seen
Flori, describing her in attire befitting 17th Century clothing.
