Southwood Cottage
LOWER SOUTHWOOD, DEVON

Lower Southwood Cottage is a family run home lying just on the eastern outskirts of Exeter. Consisting of two cottages the buildings date back to the early seventeenth century. Over the years the cottages had become renowned for much poltergeist activity. In 2003 the owners came downstairs and found the whole of the first floor in utter disarray. They tidied up and went back upstairs, however when they returned they found it had happened again even though at no time had they heard the furniture being moved. Computers have been found on and running, even when they weren't plugged in, while the owner's cats have been found in locked rooms. Chairs have been known to be moved out onto the landing, while knives have been taken out and stuck into the bread board by unseen hands. The owners also believe that there is the ghost of a little girl present, especially as children's toys often go missing. Extreme cold spots are felt throughout the building, while figures have been seen in the mirror as well as the figure of a girl sitting in the garden.
