Taunton Castle is around 800 years old. A museum opened here in 1778, while the victorians also used the site as a private school and public baths and a monestry was held there seven centuries earlier. Bloody executions of over one hundred local men was held at the Castle, their crimes was siding against King James the second, which raged into battles around Taunton in the 17th century.
