Tyn Dwr Hall
LLANGOLLEN, NORTH WALES
Tyndwr Hall, translated from Welsh is "House of Water". It is quite apt as Hall sits on a natural stream and has a well hidden in the grounds.
It was built in the early 1800's by an Iron Master, John Dicken. There is magical feel about the Hall and surrounding area, a place that has be touched long
ago by the Celts. Within the grounds is a sacred Yew tree which is said to be the biggest Yew tree in Wales. Strange happenings have occurred around the
tree, animals tend to be drawn very close to it such as stag, birds, squirrels and other wildlife. It has been known that modern day Druids visit the tree and
pay some kind of homage. Current owners of the Hall and it's staff have heard many repeat stories of what is thought to be paranormal activity.
One guest reportedly had a lengthy conversation with a spectral gamekeeper, while when the Billiards Room was once a bedroom a gentleman awoke one night
to the rustling of a lady's dress. Upon saying that she was in the wrong room she appeared to panic and quickly disappeared. Also in this room a number of
reports of footsteps have been heard walking on wooden floorboards, while the room is actually carpeted.
