Athelhampton Hall, a 15th century medieval house, has a long and varied history as a family home. Stories linking the family to a pet 'monkey' are also associated to paranormal activity in the building. It is believed that after a disasterous love affair one of the daughters chose to commit suicide in one of the hall's secret rooms. On her way to the room it is rumoured that the monkey followed her, into the secret location, where it remained to die of starvation. Paranormal experiences in the building include apparitions of the monkey and scratching sounds from the secret room. The 'Gray Lady' is also reputed to haunt the Tudor Room, while spirits are said to re-enact a duel in the Great Chamber. An apparition of a hooded priest has also been reported.

Prior to the investigation commencing the team noticed that Alfie, the owner's Jack Russell, appeared to be fixed on something, and Derek believed he had noticed a monkey in the room. As the walk-around began Derek connected with the energies of 4 ladies, like sisters, 2 of which returned in visitation. One of them, and elder lady, drew him to one of the bedrooms and he felt she walked the stairs and passageways. He also picked up on William Martyn, believing the Hall belonged to him. While in the upstairs bedrooms a noticeable rocking sound is picked up on tape, and upon investigating one of the owners had witnessed the heavy wooded cot rocking on it's own. Derek felt this was connected to the elder lady. Switching to Night-Vision Rick and Karl both began to feel uncomfortable when approaching one of the doors at the end of a corridor, feeling a foreboding presence that did not want them there. Moving upstairs to a secret passageway Derek again connects with 'Martyn's Ape' suggesting it was well looked after and had a connection with one of the daughters. Apparently he was wandering the hall in an attempt to be reunited with his master. Derek also suggests it would scratch on the wooden panels in an attempt to make its presence known (sounds of which have been heard). The crew then split into groups for the vigils, and while investigating the secret passageway Karl feels a strange breathing sensation on the side of his head. The most notable activity occurred while Yvette and Jason were undertaking a vigil by the cot, and here they picked up on camera a number of strange light anomalies. These, unlike orbs, appeared to flicker and flash around the cot, and at times were extremely bright.
