| Location Background | |
Three locations, one investigation: The Heritage Centre, Laffertys Pub, and The Bell Inn. The Bell Inn is an old coaching inn. The building, built in 1680, retains much of its original features. Amongst reported sightings there is a Victorian lady in blue, a poltergeist who throws things around and a maid in 18th Century garb. The maid is said to have been murdered in 1745 and has been seen in the presence of children. The George Inn, now Lafferty's, was one of the most famous coaching inns in Derby and was built around 1693. Over the years the inn hosted the Duke of Devonshire's headquarters during the 1745 uprising, it has also been home to vet and dentist surgeries, the post office and a makeshift funeral parlour. The inn is reputed to host many ghosts and mysteries including the 'George Skull'. This damaged female skull was found by workmen in a pit beneath the cellar. The skull was found amongst animal skulls and bones, shoes and strips of leather. Perhaps the skull was put there by superstition? In 1693 new buildings were built on a human skull, a pair of shoes and a dead cat to ward off evil spirits and witches. Other reported activity saw a long-haired man in a blue coat walking along the landing, crockery moves from the racks in the kitchen and the bar staff have had many paranormal experiences including objects flying across the room, hearing human groans from the cellar and pint mugs shattering. |

| Brief Episode Synopsis | |
Prior to the investigation Yvette did pick up some high EMF readings, however these did increase the closer she was to the floorboards, suggesting some underground electrical line may have been the cause. Derek joined the team in the Bell Inn, Room 29, where he connected with the savage murder of a pregnant servant girl he named as Jilly Morgan, while he also sensed the energies of the murderer, a barbaric soul by the name of John. Moving on to Lafferty's Derek sensed the presence of a Soldier named Theo, who he believed to be responsible for the death of a woman called Sally, whose skull was unearthed at the site. Viewing the skull, and a puncture wound in the top, he suggested the weapon was some kind of sickle. Finally the team made their way to The Heritage Centre where Derek sensed the visitation of a number of children, as well as the spirit of a man called John Cotton, who is known to have attended the school their, and who Derek felt was responsible for much poltergeist activity. The team then split into groups to cover all three locations. During the vigil at Lafferty's Karl asked for a sign in the ladies toilets at which point loud bangs were heard coming from above. In the old dormitory of The Heritage Centre Cath and Victoria are startled when they hear rustling from the corner of the room. More significant however was the activity at the Bell Inn, where Richard asked for a sign and immediately a door downstairs is heard slamming shut. Also during the editing of the footage from the locked off camera in Room 29 a lantern is seen swinging, apparently of its own accord. |
