Pleasley Vale Mills,a cotton spinning mill was built in 1784 at Pleasley Forge on the River Meden, and came into operation in 1799. By 1801 the population as Pleasley was so small that children had to be employed, working long hours for little money. In 1941 part of the mill was cleared out to make room for British Small Arms company making anti-tank guns. Pleasley ceased operation as a working mill in 1987 and is today used for employment-creating activities. In the courtyard between Mill 1 and 2 the ghost of a man has been seen numerous times, while a ghostly male figure has been seen walking from the Dye House into Mill 2. A lady in black has also been seen walking past people and through the wall of the reception room.

The investigation began with the team on the roof of Mill 1, where Derek sensed the tragedy of a woman and her child being pushed over the edge my a man in 1798. Moving down to the 4th Floor he picked up on the energies of former Supervisor Henry Cater who he felt would be heard pacing around and would also often show himself outside. Descending to the 1st Floor Corridor he felt 2 restless souls (a man and a woman) were present, and the woman wanted to reveal the truth about their deaths. Moving outside to the river Derek felt they had been drowned (at different times) but both were covered up as suicides. The vigils began on the 4th Floor where David Wells connected with the same man as Derek had earlier, also feeling his pacing was in denial for an accident he had caused, pushing someone into a machine. Down in the 1st Floor Reception Derek, Alex and Rachel heard a knocking sound, and an orb was captured. Meanwhile Richard was investigating outside, and apart from his camera failing, nothing strange occurred. The team then ventured into the woods, where various noises and rustling sounds occurred, while Alex heard a strange breathing sound which was caught on tape. They then returned to perform a séance with a ouija board, and initially the results were astounding, getting 'John, murdered in 1857'. However Ciarán repeated the experiment with everyone’s eyes closed, and all answers came back as complete gibberish. Karl, Stuart and Jon then proceeded to the 1st Floor Corridor and Toilets, where they heard some movement, while Karl was captured with a number of light anomalies surrounding him. Finally the team attempted table-tipping, where Karl strangely sensed 2 names (Elizabeth and Lucy Metcalfe), and attempting to contact them appeared to make the table jolt on one occasion. Later is was revealed in the Extra footage that on the 4th Floor Yvette apparently heard someone swear at her, while Stuart felt he heard a man wheezing.
