Location Background

Three nights and three locations as Most Haunted Live visit both new and old haunts in and around the Greater Manchester district. Beginning with Staircase House, in Stockport, built in 1460 and which contains an elaborate Jacobean Cage Newel Staircase, installed in 1618, from which it takes its name. Next on to Barnes Hospital (formerly Barnes Convalescent Hospital) which over time had dealt many terminally ill patients, and which eventually closed in 1999 since when it has lain empty. And finally a return to the infamous Brannighans nightclub, the disused church which the team investigated during Series 2 and which is home much poltergeist activity and supposed malevolent energies, as well as once being the site of a massacre during a protest rally about tax increases in 1819.

Brief Episode Synopsis

NIGHT 1 of the investigation sees the team investigate Staircase House, with Derek initially connecting with a number of names which are confirmed to be associated to the house. During the night vigils the team ask out for signs of communications at which point knocks are heard from the floor. Karl also suggests he has seen part of a face, together with some other crew members, however no conclusive evidence is captured on camera to verify this. The night concludes with Derek undergoing a supposed possession state by a man named Thomas from the early 18th Century period. Shortly afterwards he undergoes a second possession by a man named William, spouting a verbal attack after Ciaran questions him, after which it appears that one of the camera operators passes out as the feed to the studio is cut.
NIGHT 2 began with Derek linking in with sorrowful child-like energies who would have been sedated. Meanwhile Karl heard a strange noise the corridor and the crew were clearly on edge as the atmosphere of the abandoned hospital began to take hold. Derek then links in with en energy that he believed to be 'deranged' at which point Karl appears to faint. Derek then connects with the name Melissa as well as the fact that this building would have once been used as an asylum, while he also believed there is a morgue. The team attempt a Ouija board experiment with inconclusive results before moving on to table-tipping and glass divination. At on point the table appears to move, startling Yvette, while during divination the glass appears to move with only Yvette's finger upon it. The night concludes with a visit to the morgue, and upon entering the guard dog begins to bark furiously. While Jon and Karl investigate the freezer it appears as if they are struck by something, or someone, although it remains inconclusive as to what actually happens. Finally in the 1st floor ward the team attempt table tipping again where again the table moves.
NIGHT 3 saw a return to Brannighans where Derek linked with a nearby masacre and a religious man who they had not encountered previously. Sally, Cath, Yvette and Derek then attempt glass divination in the hall where little occurs. Moving on Derek connects with Rev. Collier who was the owner of the hall and a small girl who is grounded there. The team then hear a sound likened to stones rolling, while in the projector room Yvette believes her hair is touched. Shortly after David Wells joins the team, while in the Clock Tower Karl appears to have been pushed to the floor, initially blaming Stuart but accepting that maybe something else was responsible. They also suggest seeing a face in the window, while the night end with a seance in the hall. Apart from odd sounds and glass movement, little of significance occurs.
